Hill Country woman who hid bags of meth in police car gets 20-year sentence

A Comal County woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after she tried to hide two bags of methamphetamine in a police car and pleaded guilty to a drug charge, according to county officials.

Melissa Gayle Escobedo, 41, of New Braunfels pleaded guilty to a charge of possession with intent to deliver between 4 grams and 200 grams of a controlled substance, according to the Comal County District Attorney’s Office.  A  charge of possession with intent to deliver indicates that a person is accused of possessing illegal drugs or controlled substances and intends to sell or distribute them.
