San Antonio woman drops civil rights lawsuit against VIA police

A San Antonio woman has dropped a federal civil rights lawsuit she filed last year against VIA Metropolitan Transit’s police force, alleging that an officer hit her in the ribs and twisted her arm in a Whataburger drive-thru because he falsely believed she was driving a stolen vehicle.

The woman, Valerie Elizondo, filed a notice of nonsuit in February and terminated her representation by attorney Cal Mundell of El Paso, according to court documents.
