Heads up, San Antonio drivers: Some more traffic headaches are on the way. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will shut down a popular stretch of a Northside interstate in just a few hours.
Interstate 10’s eastbound (EB) and westbound (WB) main lanes at the Loop 1604 interchange will be closed beginning at 9 p.m. and until 5 a.m. beginning on Friday, July 31. Weather permitting, the shutdowns will end on Monday, August 3, TxDOT wrote in a press release.
All flyover ramps at the interchange will remain open. Still, it could create some stalls near Six Flags Fiesta Texas, the Rim shopping center and UT San Antonio. It won’t help that the eastbound and westbound Loop 1604 frontage roads at the interchange will also be blocked during the same closure period…
