A major wreck reported at one of San Antonio’s busiest intersections is backing up traffic for miles just as folks prepare to clock out and rush home for the weekend. While details are limited, a state agency has classified the wreck as “major,” and massive traffic delays are being reported.
The eastbound lanes of Loop 1604 at the intersection of Stone Oak Parkway are at a crawl Friday afternoon, July 31. One lane on an already narrowed highway is closed as first responders work the scene. This has caused a traffic backup from Stone Oak Parkway all the way west past Huebner Road.
Traffic monitoring sites, like SigAlert, warn of traffic delays up to an hour.
