Major crash shuts downs all lanes of traffic on I-10 in San Antonio

A major crash has shut down all six lanes of traffic on I-10 East on San Antonio’s Northwest side, as crews work to clear the scene. The crash, which was reported at about 7 a.m., has effectively shut down I-10 East between Vance Jackson Road/Exit 565 and West Avenue/Exit 566A, and has backed up traffic to Crossroads Boulevard/Exit 565A, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

TxDOT cams near the scene show traffic beginning to pile up, as traffic reporting website SigAlert says traffic has either stopped or turned to a crawl in the area. Cones have been placed near the Crossroads exit that is diverting traffic off the San Antonio highway.

TxDOT is asking drivers to seek an alternate route. There is no word on what caused the crash, or who may have been involved in the crash. There is also no information yet on injuries reported from the crash and how many cars or people may have been involved. There is also no timetable as to when the scene of the crash will be cleared…
