An early-morning patrol on San Antonio’s North Side turned into a gunpoint standoff Friday after a car slammed into a marked police cruiser in a hotel parking lot, authorities said.
The collision unfolded around 4 a.m. at Jones Maltsberger Road and Northern Boulevard, near Loop 410, while a San Antonio police officer was sweeping hotel lots in response to a recent string of car burglaries, according to police.
