July 4 Hit-And-Run Horror, San Antonio Chef Left to Die on Eisenhauer Road

On a holiday meant for fireworks and family, a San Antonio chef never made it home. Christopher Michael Montgomery, 40, was struck and killed while crossing Eisenhauer Road on the Northeast Side just after midnight on July 4, 2025. Witnesses told police the vehicle that hit him slowed near Montgomery, then took off, leaving him in the roadway as it sped away. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene, and months later, his partner and family are still pressing investigators for answers and for any images or video that might finally point to the driver.

As reported by KSAT, officers were first called out around 12:35 a.m. for an “assist the public” call in the 5900 block of Eisenhauer Road, where they found Montgomery lying in the street. A preliminary report notes he suffered blunt-force trauma to the back of his head. A witness described a black vehicle that appeared to slow down near him before taking off. According to the Crime Stoppers release, a reward of up to $5,000 is on the table for information that leads to an arrest.

Montgomery’s partner, Nicole Corona, told KENS5 that she has urged police to release at least a still image or short clip from what she says investigators have described as related surveillance footage. According to that reporting, Corona said she was told video exists but has not been made public, and she believes sharing any clear images could be exactly what jogs someone’s memory and helps identify the vehicle involved…
