Following a crash on his property, the owner of Mark’s Outing in San Antonio is asking the city for help “before someone gets killed.”
Mark Outing, the owner of the beloved Eastside restaurant is speaking out in a video posted to social media after what he said is now the eighth crash that has happened at the intersection near his burger joint at East Commerce and Pine Streets. In the video, which was posted on Saturday, May 9, Outing said he arrived at the restaurant to find his fence torn down. He walked around the wreckage before showing a picture of a vehicle allegedly involved in the crash.
“I’ve been talking to the city about East Commerce and Pine for years now, and I keep telling them we need to get a stoplight,” outing says in the video, before pointing at the damage to the fence on the property. “My hope and prayer is those that were in the accident is okay.”
Outing said he spoke to a woman that morning who said her son was involved in the crash, was in the hospital and may need surgery. He added that she said at least four or five people may have been involved in the crash. “I’m just calling out our District 2 reps and those that supposed to represent this side of town, that they would look at that from a real standpoint and really, really consider that we need a stoplight here,” Outing said.
