SAN ANTONIO – An inmate died Saturday after suffering a medical emergency while in custody, according to Bexar County Sheriff officials.
Authorities say Casandra Monette Pearson, 29, was found unresponsive but breathing in her cell. Bexar County Jail staff indicated she appeared to be experiencing a medical crisis, and onsite University Health medical personnel responded immediately, attempting life-saving measures.
Pearson was rushed to a local hospital, where her condition continued to decline. She was pronounced dead at 6:36 p.m…
