Where to find the best puffy tacos in San Antonio, according to locals

Puffy tacos have a storied life in San Antonio, with their origins debated amongst taco purists to this day. A recent thread on a popular Facebook group looked beyond who invented puffy tacos and instead sought to answer a different question: Who has the best puffy tacos in San Antonio?

A post on the San Antonio Restaurants Facebook group brought up the question of which restaurants serve up the best puffy tacos, and of course, the usual suspects were mentioned in the comments. Unsurprisingly, Ray’s Drive Inn and Henry’s Puffy Tacos both had more than 20 mentions apiece in the thread, which has gathered 165 comments as of 11 a.m. on Monday, May 18.

Of course, there were at least a handful of responses that treated the topics with much less seriousness, throwing in joke options like Taco Bell and Jack In The Box amongst a sea of genuine comments. One person even said their baby mama made the best puffy tacos in San Antonio.
