SAN DIEGO — A Lazy Dog restaurant is still coming to the former Mimi’s Cafe location in Mira Mesa, but residents will have to wait about a year before it opens, according to planning documents.
The restaurant chain is moving forward with plans to open at the corner of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Westview Parkway, but the project is experiencing delays along with four other Lazy Dog locations across the country, a company representative told the Mira Mesa Community Planning Group in March.
Mimi’s Cafe closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the property sat empty for several years before construction began on a replacement structure. Signs outside still advertise that Lazy Dog is “coming soon,” and the location is listed on the company’s website, but construction activity has stalled for months…
