ENCINITAS, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office (SDSO) announced Wednesday that a man in Encinitas was arrested when deputies recovered narcotics and firearms from his vehicle after he was found asleep in the driver’s seat.
According to SDSO, on Wednesday at around 2:37 a.m., a deputy tried to make contact with the 46-year-old man, who was reportedly found asleep in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, which violates one of the city’s municipal codes. When the deputy approached the vehicle, the man drove away.
The deputy then conducted a stop on the vehicle near La Costa Avenue.
When law enforcement searched his vehicle, they reportedly found an unserialized loaded firearm, which appears to have been concealed in the dashboard underneath the radio.
