OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Early results show voters in Oceanside, Carlsbad and Vista voted overwhelmingly to create a partnership between Sharp HealthCare and Tri-City Healthcare, which promises to bring $100 million in upgrades to Tri-City Hospital.
During the June 2, 2026 election, the majority of voters in the Tri-City Healthcare District voted yes on Measure H, which would create a 30-year partnership between Tri-City Medical Center and Sharp HealthCare.

Once the election results are certified by the Registrar of Voters, Sharp will take over operations at the North County hospital on July 1, 2026, and will rename the hospital to Sharp Tri-City Medical Center, Sharp announced following the approval of Measure H.
The future takeover by Sharp will not only bring back the previously eliminated labor and delivery department within the next several months and will be enhancing cancer care, but will bring more than $100 million in infrastructure improvements and seismic upgrades to the facility.
