West Nile virus detected in dead crows in San Diego County

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The County of San Diego confirmed Monday that the West Nile virus was detected in two dead crows found throughout the county.

One of the dead crows that tested positive for the virus was picked up near Rolondo in East County, located near La Mesa. Meanwhile, the second crow was found in the Skyline community, near Encanto and North Bay Terraces. Both crows were found by county workers.

The county says the birds are some of the earliest signs of West Nile virus activity in San Diego County this year. There are no local human cases so far, according to county officials…
