KANSAS CITY, Kansas (KSEE/KGPE) – A 21-year-old from Porterville was arrested on Friday on charges of conspiring to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS).
According to the federal Department of Justice, 21-year-old Elias Shamsaldeen was arrested in Kansas City along with two others: 21-year-old Bisaam Ghafoor of Leawood in Kansas, and 25-year-old Bereen Dzayee of Lakeside in California.

All three were arrested after allegedly providing over $2,000 to an individual they understood to be a member of ISIS. The criminal complaint states that the 21-year-old from Porterville expressed an interest in stabbing and injuring a U.S. servicemember.
“These subjects allegedly swore allegiance to ISIS, plotted multiple attacks, and even targeted U.S. service members — but this FBI stopped them cold,” said FBI Director Kash Patel. “The success of this op shows once again the FBI’s continued record of stopping terrorist attacks before they happen.”…
