Fuel tanker fire prompts emergency response on I-5 near Carmel Valley

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A fuel tanker truck caught fire Friday morning along Interstate 5 near Carmel Valley, prompting an emergency response and a traffic disruption in the area.

According to a Sig Alert from California Highway Patrol, the incident was first reported around 6:45 a.m. on northbound I-5 near the State Route 56 interchange.
