San Diego Zoo Safari Park welcomes new elephant

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego Zoo Safari Park welcomed a new member to its Elephant Valley herd, the safari park announced on Thursday.

Sdudla, a male African savanna elephant, has joined the eight elephants at Elephant Valley, which opened to the public in March following three and a half years of construction.

The herd of elephants lives together in an environment meant to replicate the grasslands of Africa. The exhibit provides scientists with the opportunity to research the elephants as they experience a habitat similar to what they would roam in the wild…
