High Surf and Rip Current Danger For Orange County This Week

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Beach Hazard Statement for Orange County, warning of high surf and dangerous beach conditions throughout the week.

The advisory, which began on Sunday, will remain in effect until Friday, impacting both Orange and San Diego County beaches.

According to the NWS, surf heights are expected to reach 3 to 6 feet, with occasional sets up to 7 feet along south-facing beaches. The elevated surf, combined with king tides, increases the risk of rip currents, which can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea.
