San Diego police seek witnesses in fatal shooting of 19-year-old San Diego man

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Authorities have identified a 19-year-old man that died from gunshot wounds in San Diego Friday night. The San Diego Police Homicide Unit is actively searching for witnesses.

Deandre Towers, 19, from San Diego, was found by police with gunshot wounds in the backseat of a car that crashed in the 6900 block of Mission Gorge Road as it was heading to the hospital after a shooting outside the Union Grantville apartment complex, near the Grantville Trolley Station.

Towers was taken to a trauma center where he later died.
