SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Thousands of people headed to downtown Chula Vista for a free event to celebrate and watch three World Cup games Thursday.
About 50 vendors with food, drinks and soccer swag lined the streets that were blocked off to enjoy a day of festivities and community.

“I got here at 10:30 this morning,” said Jose Castellanos.
He got a front row seat at one of the viewing areas like other people did who arrived early to grab their spot.
