SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The guided-missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald returned to San Diego on Friday after completing a three-month deployment across the Indo-Pacific region, U.S. Navy officials announced.

The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer arrived back at Naval Base San Diego on June 19 following operations in the U.S. 3rd and 7th Fleet areas of operations.
During the deployment, the Fitzgerald carried out a range of missions focused on maritime security, logistics and multinational cooperation, showing the Navy’s continued commitment to maintaining stability in the Indo-Pacific, officials said.
The ship took part in several major international exercises, including the Royal Australian Navy’s International Fleet Review in Sydney Harbour. The event brought together naval forces from 20 partner nations to mark the service’s 125th anniversary.
