Mother-daughter duo charged in $9.5M Medicare fraud scheme

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Chula Vista mother and daughter were indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly committing millions of dollars in Medicare fraud, the Department of Justice said Tuesday.

According to the indictment, Blanca Estela Cardenas, a San Diego nurse practitioner who owned a mobile medical and wound care business, and her daughter, Raquel Pasilla, ran a Medicare fraud scheme.
