CHP motorcycle officer injured in San Diego freeway crash

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A California Highway Patrol (CHP) motorcycle officer was involved in a traffic collision on a San Diego freeway during rush hour traffic Friday evening.

A spokesperson with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed a CHP officer riding a motorcycle was injured in a collision at 5:33 p.m. on Interstate 5 south at Carmel Valley Road in San Diego.

According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, a vehicle and the motorcycle officer reportedly collided while the officer’s emergency lights were activated.
