Marine Corps IDs 21-year-old lost at sea off SoCal coast

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 21-year-old Marine from Minnesota lost at sea during a training exercise has been identified, the United States Marine Corps reports.

The U.S. I Marine Expeditionary Force, which is headquartered at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, has identified the missing Marine as Lance Cpl. Armando Ortiz Canseco, 21, of Minnesota.

Marine missing in Southern California waters, search efforts underway

Ortiz Canseco was declared dead on Saturday after days of search and rescue efforts.
