SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Post-Tropical Cyclone Elida is moving north parallel to the Baja California and California coast, bringing high waves to Southern California.
A High Surf Advisory is in place through 11 p.m. Tuesday at San Diego County and Orange County beaches.
Tropical Storm Elida to bring high surf to San Diego coast
According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), Elida was moving north-northwest Monday morning at 13 mph with 40 mph tropical-storm-force winds, causing dangerous surf and a high rip current risk along Baja California and Southern California beaches.
Elida is expected to continue weakening and is forecast to dissipate in the next couple of days, the NHC reports.
The High Surf Advisory is in effect through 11 p.m. Tuesday at San Diego County and Orange County due to 4- to 7-foot waves, with sets up to 8 feet, and a high rip current risk, the National Weather Service reports…
