San Diego Zoo welcomes new hamadryas baboon infant Makeda

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) —  The San Diego Zoo welcomed its newest member at the end of June — a hamadryas baboon infant.

Baby “Makeda” was born to mom Anakin and dad Lex and was named after the Queen of Sheba to represent royalty and greatness, the zoo said in a news release Tuesday.

For the first three weeks of her life, Makeda will hold onto her mother by gripping her hair while she moves around…
