POWAY, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A suspected drunk driver was arrested early Tuesday after leading San Diego County sheriff’s deputies on a brief pursuit that ended in a crash near Interstate 15 in Poway.

According to authorities, the incident happened just after midnight near the intersection of Poway Road and Sabre Springs Parkway.
A deputy assigned to the Poway Sheriff’s Station spotted a dark green SUV allegedly speeding in the area and attempted to conduct a traffic stop as the vehicle approached the southbound I-15 on-ramp. Officials said the driver failed to yield, prompting a short pursuit.
