A former college soccer player has died unexpectedly at just 26 years old. Bryn Waite was found in the water at La Jolla Shores Beach in San Diego. A bystander spotted her Wednesday morning and alerted authorities right away. Emergency crews responded to the beach around 9:30 that morning.
Medical personnel confirmed she had no pulse once she reached shore. Lifeguards pulled her from the water, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The discovery shocked beachgoers at one of San Diego’s most popular shorelines.
Waite grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, before building a life in California. She had recently moved to San Diego and was engaged to be married. Friends describe her as warm, genuinely kind, and full of life.
