Woman confesses to slaying second spouse in Southern California

A 54-year-old woman who served nearly a decade in prison for killing her husband has pleaded guilty to killing her second spouse, a Cal Fire captain, last year.

Capt. Rebecca “Becky” Marodi, who was most recently assigned to the French Valley Cal Fire Station in Riverside County, was found by her mother on Feb. 17 suffering from multiple stab wounds to her neck, chest and back.

First responders were dispatched just before 9 p.m. to the 20200 block of Rancho Villa Road in the San Diego County community of Ramona. Despite life-saving measures, the 49-year-old died at the scene…
