A San Diego woman accused of stabbing her wife to death last year — and who also stabbed her former husband to death more than 20 years ago — pleaded guilty to the crime this week, according to media reports.
Yolanda Olejniczak Marodi, 54, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and said she used a knife to kill her wife, Rebecca “Becky” Marodi, a decorated Cal Fire captain who helped battle last year’s devastating Eaton Fire in Los Angeles County, the Los Angeles Times reported. Marodi is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 2 and faces 36 years to life in prison.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office reported that on the evening of Feb. 17, 2025, Rebecca Marodi’s mother Lorena, who lived on the property, found her daughter with stab wounds to her neck, chest and back.
