San Diego police officer who shot passenger during traffic stop in San Ysidro ID’d

Law enforcement did not make any arrests in a suspected stolen car investigation last month, which led to shots fired by an officer in a San Ysidro neighborhood, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said Monday.

The incident began on July 29 around 7 a.m. when San Diego police spotted a vehicle they believed to be stolen driving around an apartment complex near Del Sur and Beyer boulevards, said the Sheriff’s Department, which is investigating the use-of-force case.
