Drug bust: $238K worth of fentanyl found in moped at San Diego border

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than 16 pounds of fentanyl after discovering the narcotics hidden inside an electric moped at the San Ysidro Port of Entry earlier this month.

According to CBP, the seizure happened on Monday, Aug. 3, after officers referred a 22-year-old Mexican national for a secondary inspection as he attempted to enter the U.S. while driving a 2024 Revoo electric moped.

During the inspection, a nonintrusive imaging system detected something abnormal underneath the rear of the moped. A CBP K-9 also alerted officers to the area…
