SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that it is ending its contract with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to use its facilities for training and firearms purposes.
The agency said the decision comes after a call from community advocates and several local lawmakers to terminate the county’s contracts that allow federal immigration enforcement agencies to use its facilities for firearm training.
