SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Authorities have identified a 24-year-old Alpine man who was fatally shot by San Diego police officers after he allegedly emerged from a San Diego home holding a firearm, authorities said.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, the officer-involved shooting happened the evening of Aug. 25 in the 2700 block of Nipoma Street in San Diego.
Officials say SDPD officers were initially dispatched around 4:40 p.m. to a “check-the welfare” call that was later upgraded to a report of a residential burglary in progress.
