Lemon Grove City Council member again arrested for violating temporary restraining order

Liana LeBaron, a Lemon Grove City Council member, was taken into custody earlier this month on suspicion of violating a protective order, Sheriff’s Department records show.

LeBaron was arrested Jan. 5 at a home on Mount Vernon Street, according to records. She was held on $10,000 bail.

The Sheriff’s Department did not immediately respond to a request for further details regarding LeBaron’s arrest.

In April 2022, LeBaron was arrested when her husband accused her of assault. In the original restraining order request, LeBaron’s husband wrote that she “would hit me, punch me, bite me, kick me,” has “thrown items at me” and “threatened to make false accusations to have me fired from work.” She was barred from being near him for about two months until he told a judge they’d “sorted things civilly.”

But in September 2022, LeBaron’s husband filed a new restraining order request, saying years of abuse had sometimes left him with “bruising,” “abrasions,” “emotional harm” and “significant loss in productivity at work.” Amid divorce proceedings, LeBaron would allegedly show up at his home unannounced and once stopped her Jeep so he was blocked from leaving the driveway, according to the filing.
