(FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego Humane Society (SDHS) issued an update regarding the massive animal rescue operation from the Villa Chardonnay sanctuary in Julian, which began May 1.
In the one-week update, SDHS said it has completed transferring all the cats from the sanctuary. Over the last seven days, the organization has taken in 446 cats from the Julian property.
Additionally, several other animals, including 165 horses, several ponies and red-eared slider turtles are being housed at the site. SDHS is staffing the property with 15-20 workers and a veterinarian daily to ensure the animals are cared for.
