SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Did you smell smoke this weekend? Smoke from a large vegetation fire on Santa Rosa Island in Santa Barbara County was impacting air quality in San Diego County, the National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed.
The 10,000-acre wildfire was burning on the south side of the island between Ford Point and South Point with 0% containment as of Sunday afternoon, according to Cal Fire. That smoke began moving towards the coast and impacted air quality across Southern California, including in San Diego County on Sunday, NWS reports.
A forecast model shared by the weather service shows the smoke drifting around the region, and reported surface smoke was expected to linger through at least Tuesday if the fire were to continue burning…
