Friday is likely to be the hottest day of 2026 so far for inland parts of the Bay Area and Sacramento Valley, but a major cooldown is on the way Saturday — with high temperatures dropping as much as 15 degrees. It will get even cooler next week, and the prospect of a rare June soaking rain is increasing.
Temperatures on Friday will approach triple digits in the hottest parts of Northern California. Chico, Red Bluff, Yuba City, Oroville, Folsom and Roseville have the best chance of hitting 100 degrees, though most parts of the Sacramento Valley are expected to peak in the mid- to upper 90s.
