Brian Copeland, the longtime Bay Area radio host, comedian, author and performer best known for his one-man play “Not a Genuine Black Man,” is reportedly recovering from emergency heart surgery.
“Wanted to let our extended family of KGO listeners know that my dear friend and longtime colleague, Brian Copeland, is recovering from emergency heart surgery earlier today,” former KGO colleague Ronn Owens wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday, June 17. “This came on the heels of some other very serious medical issues which cropped up unexpectedly a few days ago.”
