Although only a small fraction of Bay Area workers ride transit to work, that group mirrors the region’s economic demographics pretty well: For a long time, wealthy workers have been nearly as likely to ride buses and trains as poorer ones.
But those numbers fluctuate with the times. And lately, the wealthy have stayed away.
