Raley’s announces new Bay Area closures as grocery chain shutters 6 statewide

Raley’s plans to close two more Bay Area locations in the coming months as the grocery chain continues to close stores across Northern California.

The Petaluma Raley’s store, at 157 N. McDowell Blvd., is the latest planned closure for the West Sacramento-headquartered grocery chain and is expected to close by Jan. 26, 2027, Chelsea Carbahal, a spokesperson for The Raley’s Companies, confirmed to SFGATE. Carbahal also confirmed that the Raley’s at 2400 Sand Creek Road in Brentwood will permanently close on Nov. 3.

“A variety of factors contributed to these store closures, including local market conditions and the long-term financial sustainability of these locations,” Carbahal said in an email. “Thoughtful stewardship sometimes means opening stores, and sometimes it means making difficult decisions to close them.”…
