Apple is laying off 147 workers across three Bay Area offices, a rare downsizing in contrast to the company’s tech rivals, many of whom have shed tens or hundreds of thousands of jobs.
The iPhone maker will cut 79 jobs at its Cupertino headquarters, 40 at 605 W. Maude Ave. in Sunnyvale, and 28 at 599 N. Mathilda Ave. in Sunnyvale, according to a state filing.
