Fire near Bayview district sends massive plume of smoke into the air

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A fire Wednesday in San Francisco’s Bayview-Hunter’s Point neighborhood sent a massive plume of thick, black smoke into the air. The smoke was caught by a camera from Sutro Tower, billowing high into the sky above the bay shore.

A KRON producer in the South San Francisco at the time said the smell of smoke was in the air. A photo taken from South SF showed smoke visible from there.

No details were immediately available on what caused the fire, whether structures were burned, or if there were any injuries…
