A new model for training doctors in California

Chronic disease is one of the biggest public health challenges people in the U.S. face—more than 60% of people 18 to 34 years old have at least one chronic condition. Helping people change behaviors and make healthier lifestyle choices is an integral part of managing chronic disease.

In fact, for Conrad Vial, MD, this was something that was not a focus in the curriculum in medical school.
