(KRON) — Officials are trying to figure out how a marmot recently ended up in Antioch, the second marmot found in the San Francisco Bay Area this September.
Marmots are furry animals that live in burrows across the Sierra Nevada mountains. Officials suspect that Antioch’s marmot hitched a ride from the mountains to the Bay Area on a tourist’s vehicle.
