Large power outages hit Sausalito and San Francisco’s Cathedral Hill neighborhood Thursday afternoon, leaving more than 5,000 Pacific Gas & Electric Co. customers combined without electricity.
The utility restored power to all but 170 customers in the San Francisco outage by 4:40 p.m., PG&E spokesperson Tamar Sarkissian said. Only 37 customers in Sausalito were without power as of about 6 p.m., according to PG&E’s outage tracker.
The utility reported the Sausalito outage at 2:08 p.m. and said about 2,549 customers were affected in the large swatch of the Marin County city. PG&E estimated power would be restored by 6 p.m.
