494 clams reburied after illegal haul and 3 people arrested

PISMO, Calif. (FOX26) — A weekend clamming investigation ended with three Bay Area residents in jail after officers found 494 Pismo clams taken outside legal hours, most of them undersized.

A vigilant officer spotted four people with what appeared to be a large quantity of clams well after legal clamming hours had ended.

When contacted, two people ran from the scene, though one later returned…
