Renewed search after missing Bay Area woman’s phone pings near park

Loved ones of a missing Bay Area woman launched a fresh search last week after learning her cell phone last pinged near a Vacaville park. Chantel Brooks, 37, has been missing since July.

Some of Brooks’ last confirmed movements were captured on CCTV. At 12:20 a.m. on July 17, surveillance cameras caught her leaving work in San Francisco. She clocked out as a desk clerk at the Le Nain Hotel, a single-room occupancy hotel in the Tenderloin. At 1:45 a.m., she was seen on the cameras of the 24-hour CVS on East Travis Blvd. in Fairfield, where she lives. From there, no one is sure where she went.
