Map shows storms set to soak California bringing rain back to San Francisco and Los Angeles

Two more storms are forecasted to hit California this weekend bringing more rain and gusts to San Francisco and Los Angeles . The first weather system arrives in the Bay Area on Wednesday , while the second is due to hit over the weekend.

The National Weather Service said that there would be light, “scattered” showers in the region on Wednesday and Thursday. However, the forecasters warned that more precipitation was to come.

“A stronger system brings rain and wind back to the region on Friday into Saturday,” the NWS said. “Prepare for longer commute times and keep that umbrella handy.”

The storm will being a 25 percent chance of thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday as well as more scattered rain on Sunday. Some areas may only see half an inch of rain, but the Big Sur could record over three inches.

The outlook is worse further south. Areas from Santa Barbara all the way to San Diego are under flood watch for the weekend with between one and three inches of rain predicted for coastal towns and valleys and up to six inches forecasted for the south facing mountains.
