S.F. smashburger spot closes weeks after raw beef was left on sidewalk

Hamburger Project has closed its Mission District restaurant less than a year after opening, following a short run marked by slow sales and a viral food-safety controversy.

Co-owner Tan Truong confirmed to Eater San Francisco that the restaurant at 598 Guerrero St. closed April 19.
